Maersk has opened a new ground freight and linehaul hub in Lake City, Georgia, adding another piece to its growing U.S. logistics network. The 105,000-square-foot facility sits just south of Atlanta and is close to major highways, rail lines, and distribution centers, giving the company faster access to freight moving across the Southeast.

The site includes 28 loading docks, a dedicated fleet of 15 trucks and 60 trailers, and support for LTL, full-truckload, linehaul, and home and store delivery. Maersk says bringing these services together under one roof will help reduce transit times and make schedules more consistent.
“Our investment in Lake City reflects Maersk’s commitment to building a smarter, faster, and more connected Ground Freight network,” said Gabe Alizieri, Head of Maersk Ground Freight. “By bringing together cartage and hub operations here in Lake City, we’re able to improve transit times and provide more consistent, reliable service to the people and businesses that depend on us.”
The hub is also designed to improve shipment accuracy and tracking, using tools such as RF scanning, digital dimensioning, and real-time visibility platforms. It’s part of Maersk’s plan to grow its U.S. footprint, which now includes more than 65 facilities across North America.
The Lake City site follows the recent opening of Maersk’s new station and hub in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, adding more coverage as the company works to build faster and more dependable freight connections across the country.
