Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) on Friday signed an agreement with the Institute of Fire, Safety & Disaster Management Studies (IFSDMS) to conduct specialised live-fire training for its officers to strengthen emergency response capabilities.
The training will be conducted at the IFSDMS facility near Vadodara, spanning 75 acres and featuring industrial mock-ups, including process units and LPG installations, designed for realistic fire and disaster management drills.
HPCL said the training programme will complement classroom learning with practical simulations, enabling officers to respond more effectively to high-risk industrial situations.
The agreement was signed by Dharmendra Kumar Sharma, Executive Director – Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), HPCL, and Dharmendra Wakharikar, Chief Coordinator, IFSDMS, in the presence of Vikram Mahurkar, President, IFSDMS and Managing Director of Checkmate Group.
The company said the collaboration will help strengthen operational preparedness and the safety culture, while enhancing personnel’s ability to manage industrial emergencies.
