MUMBAI: The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) has picked Atul Gupta as the Chairman and Managing Director of Engineers India Ltd, the government’s head-hunter said on its website.
Gupta, currently the company’s Commercial Director, was selected by PESB after interviewing nine candidates on Monday.
Gupta will succeed Vartika Shukla.
Gupta, a mechanical engineer from GBPUAT Pantnagar, joined Engineers India as management trainee in 1992. In a career spanning 30 years, Gupta has taken a wide array of roles and steered the implementation of various mega projects in India and abroad, involving refinery, petrochemical, pipeline, and fertiliser before moving to the corporate office in 2007.
Gupta’s name will have to be signed off by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
Engineers India is a global engineering consultancy and project management company, offering engineering consultancy and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services focused on the oil & gas and petrochemical industries.
