The Hydrogen Europe Board held elections for our new Chair, our warmest welcome to Sebastian Boden!
As our previous Chair Dr. Sopna Sury stepped down from her position to start a new endeavour as CEO of RWE’s Onshore Wind & PV Business in Europe and Australia, we would like to take the opportunity to wish her all the best on her new journey and extend our gratitude for her work and dedication to Hydrogen Europe.
Boden, whose mandate will be until June 2027, is currently Vice President of Hydrogen Energy Partnerships Europe at Air Liquide. This Board decision reflects the continuous need for strong, integrative leadership at a pivotal moment for hydrogen in Europe.
In today’s geopolitical environment, hydrogen must firmly establish its role not only in decarbonisation, but also in energy security, industrial resilience, and strategic autonomy as the European debate expands from mobility and renewable integration to strategic molecules, infrastructure, defence, resilience, and system stability.
The association reinforces its commitment to action. The objective is clear: to ensure that hydrogen delivers tangible impact for Europe’s industries, for its energy system, and for its citizens.
We remain fully committed to building a resilient, competitive, and climate-neutral Europe powered by hydrogen.
