Environmental sustainability reporting platform CDP announced the release of its list of top performers from the 2025 reporting cycle, revealing a sharp increase in the number of companies receiving an “A” score in each of its main categories, including climate, water, and forests.

Overall, CDP reported that the number of A list companies jumped in 2025 to 877, up by over 70% compared to last year, while the number of companies awarded the “Triple A” for achieving a top score in each category nearly tripled to 23.

CDP runs a global environmental disclosure system, enabling investors and other stakeholders to measure and track organization’s performance in key environmental sustainability areas including climate, forests, and water security.

In 2025, the number of companies disclosing through CDP declined slightly to around 22,100, compared with 22,777 last year. CDP said that in 2025, 640 investors representing $127 trillion in assets called on companies to disclose through its platform, while over 270 major buyers requested environmental data from approximately 45,000 suppliers through the CDP Supply Chain program.

According to CDP, in the 2025 reporting cycle, 4% of scored companies received an A score on at least one metric, up from just over 2% in 2024.

By category, 751 companies were awarded A scores for Climate, up by 63% from 515 in 2024, while the number of companies with A scores for Water Security nearly doubled from 133 to 263, and in Forests the number more than doubled to 55, compared with 26 last year.

By region, CDP revealed that companies in Asia and Europe were frontrunners in 2025, with countries with the highest proportion of A list companies including Japan, France and Türkiye at 12% each, Portugal and Spain at 9% and Taiwan at 8%.

Companies receiving the “Triple A” award by CDP included Toyota Tsusho Corporation (Japan), T.GARANTİ BANKASI A.Ş. (Türkiye), Sekisui House, Ltd. (Japan), ŞEKERBANK T.A.Ş. (Türkiye), QNB BANK ANONIM SIRKETI (Türkiye), Miquel y Costas (Spain), Metsä Board Corporation (Finland), Mayr-Melnhof Karton Aktiengesellschaft (Austria), Marfrig Global Foods S/A (Brazil), LVMH (France), L’Oréal (France), Lenzing AG (Austria), Klabin S/A (Brazil), Kering (France), Jerónimo Martins SGPS SA (Portugal), First Financial Holding Co., Ltd. (Taiwan), First Financial Holding Co., Ltd. (Chile), delfortgroup AG (Austria), Danone (France), Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd. (Japan), CARREFOURSA CARREFOUR SABANCI TİCARET MERKEZİ A.Ş. (Türkiye), British American Tobacco PLC (UK), and AKBANK T.A.Ş. (Türkiye).

Sherry Madera, CEO of CDP said:

“Markets are sending an unmistakable signal: clear, consistent environmental data is indispensable for sound decision-making. The momentum behind disclosure in 2025 shows that organizations of every size and sector recognize the value of transparent information to strengthen resilience, support innovation and unlock investment. CDP’s A List reflects the leading examples of this ambition, but the real story lies in the global commitment to making environmental data visible and actionable.”
