ESG ratings, data, and research provider Morningstar Sustainalytics announced the appointment of Jodie Tapscott as head of climate and nature solutions, with responsibility for leading the company’s climate and nature product strategy, development and delivery.
Prior to joining Morningstar Sustainalytics, Tapscott worked for nearly five years at investment manager, most recently serving as Director of Responsible Investing Strategy & Portfolio Solutions, leading the development of impact and sustainability-focused investment capabilities across a series of the firm’s strategies. The appointment marks a return for Tapscott to Sustainalytics, where she previously served as Director, Client Relations & Head of Asia Pacific ex Japan, responsible for leading business development, client relations, and ESG research for the region, and for advising asset owners and investment managers on responsible investment strategy and ESG solutions.

In her new role, Tapscott will oversee the advancement of investment-focused research, metrics, data and reporting solutions that help investors understand risks, opportunities, impacts, and dependencies across climate and nature, with a focus on driving innovation at the intersection of climate mitigation, adaptation, and nature resilience.
Morningstar Sustainalytics’ existing suite of climate and nature solutions includes carbon emissions data, low carbon transition ratings, physical climate risk measures, and nature-related datasets, and the company also embeds climate and nature metrics within its broader research, regulatory and stewardship offerings, as well as a growing range of net-zero and biodiversity-focused index solutions.
Tapscott said:

Based in London, Tapscott will report to David Pagliaro, Chief Strategy & Product Officer and incoming President of Morningstar Sustainalytics.
