XCharge EU opens new technical centre in Madrid

XCharge EU has opened a new 5,000-square-foot technical centre in Madrid, combining offices, testing facilities, warehouse, and workshop. The site is designed to strengthen customer support across Southern Europe and Latin America, while accelerating R&D on high-power charging solutions.

XCharge Europe officially inaugurated its new technical centre in Torrejón de Ardoz near Madrid. The facility brings together offices, a testing laboratory, logistics warehouse and workshop to reinforce the company’s presence in Spain and neighbouring markets, such as Germany, France, Portugal, Italy, Greece – and also in Latin America.

The site is equipped with XCharge’s latest charging systems, including the C6 (200 kW), the liquid-cooled C7 (400 kW) and the Net Zero Series, which delivers up to 210 kW using just 6 to 60 kW of grid power thanks to a 233 kWh internal battery system, expandable to 466 kWh. These stations are available for demonstrations and real-world performance testing with cars, trucks, vans, and buses.

The Madrid centre also serves as a hub for validating interoperability with new EV models, fine-tuning configurations, and carrying out joint studies with customers and partners. Earlier this month, XCharge EU introduced GridLink to the European market. The system integrates solar and storage to optimise charging at sites with limited grid capacity. According to the company, GridLink “represents a significant step forward in the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of charging infrastructure.”

The facility includes a spare parts warehouse for the C6, C7 and Net Zero Series, enabling 24- to 48-hour deliveries across the Iberian Peninsula. It also houses a workshop that will be used for service and repair training.

“Madrid is a strategic location within our European network,” added Albina Iljasov, Head of Europe at XCharge EU. “The new centre strengthens our customer service and support capabilities by serving as a hub for testing and integration of the latest standards and most innovative technologies in electric mobility.”

“The new technical centre represents a fundamental step in our national and international expansion plan,” said Javier Lázaro, Sales Director at XCharge EU. “Not only does it allow us to significantly improve our delivery times and technical support in Southern Europe and Latin America, but it also provides us with an advanced environment to boost our R&D in terms of performance, interoperability, and adaptability.”

Just last year, the company opened a new test centre in Hamburg, Germany. The site is also intended to help XCharge expand its presence across Europe. Similar to the site now open in Madrid, test centre in Hamburg is used to invite (potential) XCharge customers and demonstrate the C6, C7 and Net Zero Series charging stations on site.
