(WO) — Ashtead Technology has signed a collaboration agreement with Ocean Science Consulting Ltd. (OSC) to deliver combined environmental monitoring, mitigation and compliance services for offshore wind and oil-and-gas operators.

Under the deal, Ashtead will supply and manage subsea sensors and other equipment, while OSC will handle underwater-noise monitoring, data analysis and regulatory reporting. The companies say the single-vendor approach will help developers meet strict marine-environment standards throughout an asset’s life cycle.
Offshore projects—whether decommissioning pipelines, laying cables or installing turbines—must limit subsea noise to protect marine life. The new partnership “significantly enhances our ability to deliver end-to-end support for clients in both offshore wind and traditional energy sectors,” said Dr. Victoria Todd, OSC’s managing director. “With Ashtead Technology managing logistics and equipment, we can concentrate on our scientific core: designing compliance strategies, analysing environmental data and delivering credible reporting and journal papers to support licences and regulatory submissions.”
Ashtead’s Head of Asset Integrity, Ross MacLeod, added: “Our clients in offshore wind and oil and gas are under growing pressure to deliver low-impact operations that meet stringent environmental expectations. Together with OSC, we’re removing the complexity from marine compliance — delivering an unrivalled integrated offering to protect marine ecosystems.”
OSC has more than two decades of experience advising on licensing and conducting peer-reviewed marine studies. Ashtead operates what it says is the world’s largest independent fleet of subsea technology for offshore energy applications.
