New Market Offering: Zurich Global Green Bond Fund offers life insurance customers diversified access to global green bonds, initially in Italy and Germany.

Environmental Focus: The fund targets projects reducing greenhouse gas emissions, with at least 90% of assets allocated to green bonds.

Institutional Expertise: Jointly managed by Amundi and Zurich, the fund leverages Zurich’s $7.5B green, social, and sustainability bond portfolio and includes annual impact reporting.

Zurich Insurance Group and Amundi have launched the Zurich Global Green Bond Fund, a tailored investment vehicle for Zurich’s Life insurance customers seeking access to the global green bond market. The fund will initially be available in Italy and Germany, with expansion to other markets planned.

The fund is managed by Alban de Faÿ, Head of Fixed Income Sustainable & Responsible Investment Process at Amundi, and Daniela Montezuma, Portfolio Fund Manager. It offers diversified exposure to the global fixed income universe of green bonds issued by sovereigns, supranationals, and corporates. These instruments exclusively fund projects that are environmentally beneficial, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, pollution control, sustainable water management, biodiversity conservation, and green buildings.

The core sustainability metric used to assess environmental impact is greenhouse gas emissions avoided, expressed in metric tons of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e).

“Zurich is one of the pioneers of the green bond market and a leading investor with USD 7.5 billion of its own investments in green, social and sustainability bonds. We are delighted to bring our decade of institutional expertise to our Life insurance and unit-linked customers,” said Sergii Medynskyi, Head of Investment Solutions at Zurich.

At least 90% of the Fund’s assets will be invested in green bonds aligned with the Green Bond Principles, which define eligible projects and market integrity standards. The fund may also include allocations to social and sustainability bonds and aims to outperform the Bloomberg MSCI Global Green Bond Index using an active management approach.

Zurich and Amundi will jointly monitor the portfolio and publish an annual impact report, enhancing transparency and accountability for investors focused on sustainability outcomes.
