In a milestone for Egypt’s upstream sector, ARGAS has purchased 30,000 STRYDE Range+ nodes and the company’s Nimble seismic system, marking the first deployment of nodal technology for onshore seismic acquisition in the country.

The equipment will be used on a large-scale 2D seismic survey across highly prospective sedimentary basins, enhancing Egypt’s oil and gas exploration capabilities. The adoption of STRYDE’s lightweight, scalable nodal system allows faster deployment, reduced manpower and logistics, and improved safety compared with conventional seismic acquisition methods.
“This technology brings a significant advantage to both us and our clients,” said Soufiane Azzi, Director of Commercials and Collaborations at ARGAS, citing reduced deployment time, smaller crew requirements, and higher-quality seismic data as key benefits.
STRYDE Sales Director Mehdi Tascher called the sale a “major milestone” for both companies and for Egypt’s energy sector, noting growing demand for scalable seismic solutions that deliver dense, high-resolution subsurface imaging.
The move underscores Egypt’s push to modernize exploration workflows and unlock frontier oil and gas resources in the south of the Liberia Basin. For ARGAS, it also reinforces its role as a regional pioneer in adopting new seismic technologies to drive more efficient exploration and development.
