Zenobē has closed a €325 million debt facility to scale its electric fleets-as-a-service offer across Europe. The financing will support up to 1,000 new electric buses, trucks and chargers, strengthening its footprint in major EU markets including Spain and Germany.
The company said the facility, combined with its own capital, will support the deployment of up to 1,000 additional electric buses, trucks and chargers within EU and EEA markets.
In Spain, Zenobē partners with operator Grupo Julià to deliver a full end-to-end electrification package for its fleet in Barcelona. The €42 million investment includes financing for 44 fully electric buses alongside design, construction, maintenance and operation of the charging infrastructure. Grupo Julià operates city sightseeing services in multiple countries.
Zenobē specialises in fleet electrification and grid-scale battery storage projects, with a stated mission to make electric transport networks cleaner, more affordable and more reliable for operators across markets. The company says it currently supports over 3,400 electric fleet vehicles across 120 depots globally. It has teams providing electrification services in Germany, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Sweden.
The company is also active in the UK market, financing 130 electric buses for National Express Coventry and installing 104 charging points at Go-Ahead’s Oxford depot. Internationally, Zenobē says it recently played a pivotal role in a €520 million UK-Canada partnership to electrify Brampton’s transit bus network. The project is expected to support around 5,000 direct and indirect jobs in both countries.
Steven Meersman, Founder Director at Zenobē, said: “We not only offer financial backing but also provide the expert guidance necessary to empower fleet operators to switch to electric. This new facility will help us to make the cleaner option even more financially competitive – reducing any perceived green premiums and in some cases even achieving green discounts.”
Meersman added: “By reducing the total cost of ownership for electric fleets through bespoke financing, optimisation software, energy management and more, we are committed to enhancing the economic viability and accessibility of electric transport across Europe.”
