VA Tech WABAG on Tuesday said it has won a large contract from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to build industrial water treatment facilities for the Bina petrochemical and refinery expansion project in Madhya Pradesh.
The order, classified as “large”, is valued between ₹250 crore and ₹600 crore and will be executed over 22 months, according to a stock exchange filing.
The contract covers the design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of a water block package at BPCL’s Bina refinery. This includes a raw water treatment plant, a reverse osmosis-based demineralisation plant and a zero liquid discharge plant.
“This award further reinforces WABAG’s leadership position in the Oil & Gas sector and underscores our strong track record in delivering complex, technology-intensive water projects,” said S Natrajan, Head of Sales and Marketing for the India Cluster at WABAG.
He said the order reflected BPCL’s confidence in WABAG’s technology and execution capabilities and added that the company would focus on delivering the project in line with quality, reliability and operational requirements.
