(WO) — Beacon Offshore Energy has partnered with Tampnet to deploy high-performance digital infrastructure for its Shenandoah deepwater development in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. Located in the Walker Ridge area, Shenandoah is a new greenfield project designed to serve as a regional hub for future deepwater operations.
Tampnet’s subsea fiber and 4G/5G network will provide real-time monitoring, remote collaboration, and data-driven decision-making across the platform’s lifecycle. The integrated solution combines private 5G technology with Tampnet’s public 4G network and connects with FirstNet and AT&T to support emergency response and high-priority communications. Satellite backup ensures continuous connectivity.
Mike Clake, Vice President of Deepwater Developments at Beacon Offshore Energy, said the digital infrastructure will “enable real-time monitoring and decision-making, improving efficiency and reducing offshore exposure.” Tampnet CEO Elie Hanna added that Shenandoah “represents the digital deepwater platform of the future,” positioning Beacon to scale digital tools and operational insights from day one.
Tampnet’s Gulf of Mexico network now connects more than 20 offshore assets across 1,700 kilometers of subsea fiber, serving as the region’s primary communications backbone.
