Schneider Electric is launching a multi-year initiative to build a category-defining agentic AI ecosystem, signaling a bold step in the digital evolution of energy and sustainability management. The initiative is designed to reshape how organizations approach decarbonization and efficiency through collaborative intelligence—AI agents that act as digital teammates rather than passive tools.
“Our vision is collaborative intelligence—agentic AI that works alongside human experts as a true digital teammate,” said Steve Wilhite, President of Schneider’s Sustainability Business. “This technology allows us to create a force multiplier effect where complex data analysis and tasks are automated, freeing our clients to focus on the strategic initiatives and innovations that lead to greater impact.”

Unlike conventional software, Schneider’s new AI-native ecosystem features intelligent agents that anticipate needs, adapt in real time, and deliver continuous optimization across sustainability functions. The platform serves as both a command center and coordination layer, integrating human expertise with enterprise systems for actionable insight and strategic execution.
To lead the charge, Schneider has appointed Julien Picaud as Head of Product Management. Picaud brings deep expertise in AI, digital transformation, and product leadership. He will oversee enhancements across the company’s software suite—drawing on the recent EcoAct acquisition—including:
Emissions Management & Decarbonization Strategy
Scenario Analysis, Benchmarking & Compliance Reporting
Climate Risk Assessment & Value Chain Engagement
Energy Management, Automation & Data Visualization
“In specialized fields like energy and sustainability, agentic AI is only as effective as the depth of domain expertise embedded in its design,” said Amy Cravens, Research Director, Sustainability and ESG Software at IDC. “Guided by decades of experience, Schneider Electric is creating an agentic AI ecosystem that sets a new standard for sustainability management.”
Schneider Electric’s leadership is backed by 20+ years of global consulting and recognition as the World’s Most Sustainable Company by Corporate Knights. That credibility now supports the responsible development of this new AI-powered ecosystem.
“Recognizing the energy intensity of AI, we are committed to developing and deploying this investment with a focus on computational efficiency and responsible resource usage,” said Dan, Schneider Electric executive. “By integrating the principles of frugal AI, we are designing systems that deliver maximum intelligence with minimal resource consumption.”
This initiative cements Schneider Electric’s position at the intersection of digital innovation, energy management, and sustainability, with the potential to redefine how enterprises achieve market-leading impact.
