UK-based industrial technology company Rolls-Royce has appointed former bp Chief Sustainability Officer Ivanka Mamic to the newly created role of Global Head of Government Relations and Chief Sustainability Officer.
Mamic joins Rolls-Royce after 5 years at bp, where she led the development of the energy giant’s global sustainability strategy and oversaw its execution across the company. Her departure from the company follows a significant shift in strategy by bp last year, including a major reallocation of capital to increase oil and gas investment and reducing low carbon energy to less than 5% of the company’s capex allocation.
Prior to joining bp in 2021, Mamic served in a series of sustainability-focused roles at retailer Target, including leading the company’s global responsible sourcing team.
In a post announcing the new appointment, Mamic said:
“As someone with a strong interest in enduring, mission-driven companies, I am proud to join this iconic British organisation and be part of a team focused on excellence and innovation to drive real-world solutions to complex challenges.”
