Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) on Tuesday said it is ramping up the production of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at its Jamnagar refining and petrochemicals complex and diverting natural gas from the KG-D6 Basin to priority sectors in line with government guidelines, as global energy markets remain volatile due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
The company said its teams are working to optimise refinery operations at the Jamnagar complex to enhance LPG output and ensure stable supplies to the domestic market.
The move comes amid government directing uninterrupted access to essential fuels for households.
In addition to boosting LPG output, Reliance said natural gas produced from the KG-D6 Basin will be diverted to support supply to priority sectors in accordance with national energy priorities and government allocation guidelines.
“At a time when global energy markets are experiencing volatility, ensuring uninterrupted access to essential fuels for Indian households remains a national priority,” the company said in a media statement.
Reliance added that it will continue to work closely with the Government of India and remain compliant with national guidelines and allocation priorities to ensure energy supplies reach sectors and communities that require them most.
The company said the steps are part of its broader efforts to support India’s energy security and ensure reliable access to essential fuels during a period of global uncertainty.
