Opdenergy’s operational capacity increases to 2.4 GW with the addition of 13 wind farms across Spain.
Over 75% of the company’s revenue now secured through long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
Acquisition includes 351 MWp of solar projects with potential for hybridisation, reinforcing strategic diversification.
Opdenergy, a Madrid-based independent renewable energy producer, has signed an agreement to acquire a 440 MW portfolio of operational wind farms from Acciona Energía for over €500 million ($543 million). The deal includes thirteen wind assets located in Albacete, Cadiz, Cuenca, Lleida, Valencia, and Zamora. Completion is expected by year-end, pending regulatory approval.
With this acquisition, Opdenergy’s operational capacity will rise to 2.4 GW—80% of which is in Europe and the United States. More than 75% of the company’s revenues are now backed by long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), significantly enhancing financial predictability and stability.
“The integration of a portfolio of assets with a proven operational history is a key milestone for our growth strategy,” said Luis Cid, Chief Executive Officer of Opdenergy. Tobías Martínez, Chairman of the Board, added, “This transaction reinforces the operational strength and financial foundation of our business.”

The acquisition is backed by Opdenergy’s majority shareholder, Antin Infrastructure Partners, and also includes a 351 MWp pipeline of solar photovoltaic projects that may be hybridised with the newly acquired wind assets. This positions the company to further diversify its portfolio and improve yield.
The deal reflects a broader trend in Spain’s renewable energy sector, where independent producers are actively building multi-technology platforms to strengthen their competitive positioning and long-term value. Opdenergy’s expansion aligns with its ambition to optimise operations and scale in key European markets.
