Mercedes-Benz CLA now available to order in Germany from around €56,000

Mercedes-Benz has opened the configurator for its all-electric CLA in Germany. Prices start at €55,858.60 for the rear-wheel-drive CLA 250+ with EQ technology, while the only other available variant already exceeds €60,000.

Mercedes-Benz has opened the online configuration for the electric CLA in Germany, with the entry-level CLA 250+ EQ priced from €55,858.60. A second, more powerful version—the all-wheel-drive CLA 350 4MATIC with EQ technology—is listed from €60,380.60. The UK configurator had not been opened at the time of writing.

The above-mentioned variants are currently the only two drivetrain options available. Both use the 85 kWh NMC battery pack. Entry-level models with a 58 kWh LFP battery—expected to lower the starting price considerably—as well as hybrid variants, are not yet open for ordering.

While the new MMA platform and all-electric drive represent significant changes for Mercedes-Benz, one aspect remains unchanged: the base price is merely a starting point. A wide range of optional extras quickly drives up the final price. Buyers selecting either drivetrain are immediately offered the ‘Start Package’ for €2,001.50 or the more comprehensive ‘Edition’ special model for €12,500.95.

The latter includes AMG Line styling, black Manufaktur paintwork, 19-inch AMG alloy wheels, two-tone leather seats, and the ‘Premium Package with Digital Extras’. For reference, AMG Line alone costs over €3,200, and the AMG Line Plus package is close to €5,600. The ‘Night Package’ – standard on Edition and AMG Line Plus – adds tinted thermal insulation glass and black trim elements for €952 when ordered separately.

These initial packages primarily affect the vehicle’s aesthetics. Functional equipment is added later in the process. As standard, the CLA includes the ‘Advanced Package with Digital Extras’, comprising LED headlights, panoramic sunroof, air conditioning, front seat heating, and an illuminated Mercedes star on the grille. Digital services such as the MB.CHARGE charging tariff and MBUX navigation can be added later, at additional cost. That means the €56,000 entry-level CLA does not include a built-in satnav and instead relies on optional packages or smartphone integration.

Even the ‘Advanced Plus Package with Digital Extras’ (€1,469.65) does not include navigation. It adds features like the Keyless-Go system, wireless phone charging, rear armrest, and flush door handles. The ‘Premium Package with Digital Extras’ (€3,230.85) includes climate control, memory seats, and illuminated sill plates – but again, MBUX Entertainment remains an optional service.

The top-tier ‘Premium Plus Package with Digital Extras’ (over €5,400) finally includes high-end features such as Multibeam LED headlights, a Burmester sound system, head-up display, and Pre-Safe safety technology.

Only after selecting these feature packages can customers access the configurator’s customisation options for paint, wheels, upholstery, trims, and steering wheels – unless they are already part of a package. At that point, one may have added nearly €16,000 in options before reaching the final configuration stage.

Interestingly, Mercedes’ online configurator shows the CLA 250 is available with a standard lease rate of €300.36 per month – based on 15,000 km/year, a 36-month term, and a sizeable €11,171.72 down payment. The CLA 350 4MATIC will be delivered at a later date, so leasing terms for this model are not yet published.
