LEGO Group is making a big move in Virginia, announcing a $366 million plan to build a 2,000,000-square-foot distribution center in Prince George County. The new facility, located at 8800 Wells Station Road in the Crosspointe Business Centre, will create 305 jobs and is expected to open in 2027.

“Our regional distribution center is a strategic complement to the factory we are currently constructing in Virginia,” said LEGO Group Chief Operations Officer Carsten Rasmussen. “Both facilities will ensure that we have the manufacturing and distribution capacity to continue to meet long-term growth in the Americas for years to come, while helping to reduce lead times and our environmental impact through a shortened supply chain. We remain grateful for the continued support from the Commonwealth of Virginia and look forward to bringing more play experiences to children in the region and around the world.”
The project adds to LEGO’s growing presence in the Americas. Alongside a factory under construction in the Richmond area, this will be the company’s second distribution center in the region, joining an existing site in Fort Worth, Texas. LEGO’s goal is to get closer to customers and speed up delivery while lowering its environmental footprint.
Construction on the new center is set to begin later this year. LEGO signed a build-to-suit lease with Crosspointe Commerce Center, a joint venture between Hillwood Investment Properties and The Silverman Group. A third-party logistics partner will operate the center.
Governor Glenn Youngkin approved a $2.53 million grant from Virginia’s Opportunity Fund to support the project. The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is also assisting with recruitment and training through its Jobs Investment Program.
“As a global brand that sparks imagination in children everywhere, the LEGO Group’s decision to expand in Virginia underscores the strength of our communities and the talent of our people,” said Secretary of Commerce and Trade Juan Pablo Segura. “This investment brings high-quality jobs to Prince George County and reflects our broader commitment to building healthy, vibrant communities.”
LEGO will also benefit from the Port of Virginia’s Economic and Infrastructure Development Grant Program, which encourages companies to build near the port to support maritime growth.
“The LEGO Group is expanding its investment, and in doing so, further securing its future as part of Virginia’s growing corporate community,” said Stephen A. Edwards, CEO and Executive Director of the Virginia Port Authority. “The Port of Virginia is investing in parallel to ensure we can meet the demand that this type of expansion requires. This announcement shows the confidence the LEGO Group has in Virginia and the port’s ability to safely and sustainably move its cargo to world markets for years to come.”
