Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi slammed the US for allowing countries to buy Russian oil, highlighting what he called ‘Washington’s double standards’ in a post on X.

Araghchi said, “The US spent months bullying India into ending oil imports from Russia. After two weeks of war with Iran, the White House is now begging the world — including India — to buy Russian crude”.

He also accused European countries of supporting an “illegal war” against Tehran, saying they did so expecting reciprocal US backing against Russia.

US carries out strike on Persian Gulf island amid tensions
US President Donald Trump said in a social media post that US strikes on Iran’s Kharg Island targeted military facilities while leaving oil infrastructure untouched for now. He warned that any interference with traffic through the Strait of Hormuz could lead to further action. On Thursday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf warned in a social media post that attacks on islands along Iran’s southern maritime frontier would force Tehran to “abandon all restraint”, underscoring their importance to the country’s economy and security.
Iran allows Indian ships safe passage through Strait of Hormuz

According to a Reuters report, amid escalating tensions, Iran has allowed two LPG tankers to cross the Strait of Hormuz. Citing two sources and Lloyd’s List Intelligence shipping data, the report said that a Saudi crude tanker is scheduled to arrive in India on Saturday after transiting the Strait earlier this month.Earlier, Iran’s envoy to India Mohammad Fathali said Tehran would allow safe transit for ships heading to India through the Strait of Hormuz, underlining the strong bilateral ties and shared interests between the two nations.

He highlighted the mutual responsibility between the two nations, saying the suffering of India’s people was also Iran’s, and that the two countries should support each other given their shared interests and common destiny.
