Petronet LNG, India’s leading gas importer, on Monday said it is planning to raise a ₹12,000 crore loan to finance expansion of its petrochemical plant in Dahej, Gujarat, according to a report by news agency Reuters.
According to the report, its Director Finance and CEO, Saurav Mitra, in an analyst call on Monday said that the plant is being built with an estimated cost of ₹20,685 crore and will form the bulk of the company’s planned capital expenditure of ₹30,000 crore over the next few years.
Mitra said that the firm’s capital expenditure for FY27 was projected to surpass ₹5,000 crore estimated for FY26.
Last week, Petronet LNG’s Board gave its approval for setting up a five million tonnes per year capacity LNG import terminal in Odisha at a cost of ₹6,350 crore.
