This year, entrepreneurs are once again starting to build hydrogen filling stations. A total of eight partnerships will receive €40 million in subsidies for this project. They are doing so with support from the Hydrogen in Mobility Subsidy Scheme (SWIM). Besides building new filling stations and expanding others, entrepreneurs are also purchasing over 300 hydrogen-powered trucks and passenger buses with the subsidy.
Mainly subsidies for heavy goods vehicles
The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) is implementing the SWIM. With funding from the application period earlier this year, eight partnerships will begin expanding the hydrogen network on the road. New hydrogen refueling stations will be built in Meerkerk, Steenwijk, Hattemerbroek, and Woerden. In four other municipalities, refueling stations will be expanded to include a refueling option for hydrogen-powered vehicles. In addition, the partners applied for subsidies for a total of 355 hydrogen vehicles, mostly heavy-duty vehicles. Applicants will also receive subsidies for hydrogen-powered passenger buses.
