Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited) has signed a long-term Sale Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ALNG), a subsidiary of ADNOC Gas, for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) over a 10-year period, the company informed thorugh official statement.
Under the agreement, HPCL will receive LNG at its 5 million tonne per annum LNG storage and regasification terminal at Chhara in Gujarat. Supplies from the contract will cater to HPCL’s own refineries, its city gas distribution (CGD) network, and gas demand from sectors such as fertilisers, power, petrochemicals and other industries.
In the words of HPCL, the agreement strengthens India–UAE economic ties and underlines the role of LNG in supporting India’s energy transition. The long-term supply is expected to contribute to India’s energy security while aligning with HPCL’s push towards cleaner energy sources.
