GATE Energy has been awarded the full commissioning scope for bp’s Kaskida Floating Production Unit (FPU), a major greenfield deepwater development located roughly 200 miles offshore Galveston in the Keathley Canyon area of the U.S. Gulf of America/Gulf of Mexico.

Under the award, GATE will serve as bp’s nominated commissioning provider, executing static and dynamic commissioning, systems completion management, and interface coordination. The company will carry out the work in alignment with Seatrium, the project’s engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor.
The Kaskida FPU project further extends the collaboration between GATE Energy and Seatrium, building on previous joint efforts including commissioning of bp’s Argos platform.
“Collaborating with Seatrium on the Kaskida project is a continuation of the strong working relationship we’ve built on past deepwater developments,” said Mark Myhre, President of Commissioning at GATE Energy. “Following our successful delivery of commissioning on bp’s Argos platform, we’re proud to bring that same level of commitment and technical excellence to Kaskida.”
Lee Jordan, CEO of GATE Energy, added, “We are pleased to once again leverage the skills of our integrated Asia-Pacific and U.S.-based commissioning teams to support bp in delivering maximum value from their deepwater projects.”
The award underscores GATE Energy’s growing role in Gulf of America/Gulf of Mexico commissioning and deepwater operations, where the company has built a track record of delivering projects to stringent safety and quality standards.
