New Delhi: GAIL (India) Limited on Tuesday reported its highest-ever annual profit after tax (PAT) at ₹11,312 crore for the financial year 2024-25, a 28 per cent rise from ₹8,836 crore in the previous year.

Revenue from operations rose 5 per cent to ₹1,37,288 crore in FY25 compared to ₹1,30,638 crore in FY24. The company’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at ₹19,168 crore, up from ₹15,583 crore, while profit before tax (PBT) increased to ₹14,825 crore from ₹11,555 crore in the year-ago period.

The Board of Directors recommended a final dividend of ₹1 per equity share for FY25, in addition to an interim dividend of ₹6.50 per share already paid. The total dividend payout ratio stands at 43.59%.

GAIL incurred a capital expenditure of ₹10,512 crore during the financial year, Chairman and Managing Director Sandeep Kumar Gupta said. “The robust performance during FY25 is primarily driven by better physical and financial performance across all major segments. Despite challenges in the global economy, our company had a landmark year,” he said.

On a quarterly basis, GAIL reported a PAT of ₹2,049 crore in Q4 FY25, compared to ₹3,867 crore in the previous quarter. Revenue from operations stood at ₹35,707 crore in Q4 as against ₹34,958 crore in Q3. EBITDA fell to ₹3,783 crore from ₹6,027 crore, and PBT declined to ₹2,701 crore from ₹5,029 crore.

In terms of operations, the company recorded a 6 per cent increase in natural gas transmission volume during FY25 at 127.32 million metric standard cubic metres per day (MMSCMD), up from 120.46 MMSCMD in FY24. Gas marketing volume rose to 101.49 MMSCMD from 98.45 MMSCMD. Polymer production increased 6 per cent to 827 thousand metric tonnes (TMT), while LHC production stood at 947 TMT compared to 996 TMT last year.

During the January–March quarter, gas transmission volume stood at 120.83 MMSCMD, lower than 125.93 MMSCMD in Q3. Gas marketing volume increased to 106.53 MMSCMD from 103.46 MMSCMD. Polymer sales rose to 229 TMT from 221 TMT, while LHC sales fell to 198 TMT from 282 TMT.

On a consolidated basis, GAIL reported revenue from operations of ₹1,42,291 crore in FY25, compared to ₹1,33,500 crore in FY24. Consolidated PAT (excluding minority interest) increased to ₹12,450 crore from ₹9,899 crore. Consolidated EBITDA rose to ₹20,643 crore from ₹16,986 crore, and PBT stood at ₹16,096 crore, up from ₹12,595 crore.

GAIL Gas Limited (GGL), a wholly owned subsidiary, currently operates 16 geographical areas (GAs). GAIL received PNGRB authorisation in 2018 to develop city gas distribution networks in six additional GAs — Varanasi, Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bhubaneswar, and Cuttack. The Board has recommended transferring these six GAs to GGL, subject to approval from the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).
