DeepOcean has secured a contract to deliver subsea construction and tie-in work for a new field development on the UK Continental Shelf, the company announced Wednesday.

The project, which will be developed as a subsea tie-back to an existing host facility, includes installation of a flexible production riser, flowline and umbilical linking the host platform to a new subsea tree. DeepOcean will also handle protection measures for the new infrastructure as well as commissioning work.
Engineering and project management will be led from the company’s Aberdeen office. Offshore execution will occur in two phases: an initial subsea construction and tie-in campaign, followed by commissioning activities using a second vessel from DeepOcean’s chartered fleet.
“This award acknowledges our significant track record in subsea construction,” said Robin Mawhinney, managing director of DeepOcean UK. He added that the project supports ongoing efforts to extend the life of existing North Sea infrastructure as operators focus on domestic energy supply.
No financial details were disclosed.
