Rubicon Carbon integrates DAC credits for the first time by partnering with Deep Sky, expanding its portfolio with permanent carbon removal solutions.

Deliveries of high-integrity carbon credits begin in 2025, extending through 2033 and offering Rubicon’s clients early access to next-gen DAC innovation.

Deep Sky’s Canadian advantage—low-carbon grid, supportive policy, and ideal geology—positions it to scale DAC rapidly, backed by over $100M in funding.

Deep Sky, a Canadian-based Direct Air Capture (DAC) project developer, has entered a multi-year offtake agreement with Rubicon Carbon, marking the first time Rubicon will feature DAC credits in its carbon portfolios. The deal runs from 2025 through 2033 and will provide Rubicon clients with early access to Deep Sky’s permanent carbon removal credits.

“This collaboration reflects our mission to provide best-in-class carbon portfolios that help accelerate climate progress,” said Tom Montag, CEO of Rubicon Carbon. “We’re excited to work with Deep Sky and offer our clients early access to their innovative DAC projects.”

Rubicon Carbon is known for its high-integrity carbon credit portfolios, tailored to meet organizations’ decarbonization goals with flexibility in risk, timeline, and budget. The new inclusion of DAC credits introduces a new level of permanence and innovation into its offerings.

Deep Sky’s first facility, Deep Sky Alpha, launches this summer with a capacity to capture 3,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually. The company’s tech-agnostic model enables it to identify and scale emerging DAC technologies from around the world. Headquartered in Canada, Deep Sky benefits from a low-carbon grid, favorable geology for carbon storage, and a stable regulatory environment.

“Partnering with Rubicon Carbon enables us to bring our DAC project portfolio to a broader audience of enterprises,” said Charlie Renzoni, VP of Carbon Markets at Deep Sky. “Rubicon’s platform and active portfolio management ensure that our credits reach businesses around the world, driving greater climate impact.”

The partnership offers Rubicon clients:

Priority access to DAC carbon removal credits from Deep Sky Alpha.

A portfolio-within-a-portfolio model that accelerates innovation.

Reduced delivery and counterparty risk through Deep Sky’s stringent project development and Rubicon’s due diligence.

With over $100 million raised in just two years, Deep Sky is rapidly scaling a national pipeline of DAC projects to lead global deployment from Canada.

This strategic alignment between Rubicon and Deep Sky signals a pivotal move toward high-integrity, scalable carbon removal—helping corporations advance their climate commitments with greater confidence and impact.
