India’s latest monthly fuel price revision, effective November 1, brought a dual shift — a rise in aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices by nearly 1 per cent and a cut of up to ₹6.5 and ₹4.5 minimum in commercial LPG cylinder rates across major metro cities.
According to updates from state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs), the new retail price for a 19 kg LPG cylinder in Delhi now stands at ₹1,590.50, marking a ₹5 reduction from the previous ₹1,595.50.
The reduction offers slight relief after the ₹15.50 hike implemented in September for a 19 kg cylinder. Notably, Kolkata witnessed the steepest cut among the metros, with prices dropping by ₹6.50 per cylinder

Jet fuel gets costlier
Meanwhile, jet fuel prices have been increased by ₹777 per kilolitre, or 0.8 per cent, bringing the new rate in Delhi to ₹94,543.02 per kl, according to data from OMCs.
This marks the second consecutive monthly hike — prices had already climbed ₹3,052.5 per kl (3.3 per cent) on October 1, following a 1.4 per cent cut (₹1,308.41 per kl) in September.
The steady increase is expected to add financial strain on airlines, where ATF accounts for nearly 40 per cent of total operating costs. No immediate comment was available from airline operators regarding the latest price revision.

State-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) adjust ATF and LPG rates on the first of every month, based on the average global fuel prices and exchange rates.
