Raipur: The Chhattisgarh govt issued a circular to all district collectors regarding the allocation of land for Bio-CNG plants to be established in urban local bodies for processing bio-waste and agricultural waste.
The circular, issued by the Urban Administration and Development Department from the ministry, references the decision taken in the state Cabinet meeting held on April 17.
In compliance with the Cabinet’s decision, govt land is to be allocated at concessional lease rates for Bio-CNG plants being set up in all urban local bodies of the state for the processing of bio-waste-cum-agricultural waste. The Urban Administration Department and the concerned urban local body have been authorised to take necessary action for the establishment of these Bio-CNG plants.
The state govt instructed the collectors to allocate a maximum of ten acres of govt land at a concessional lease rate of Rs 1 per square metre to public sector undertakings and govt oil and gas marketing companies for the establishment of Bio-CNG plants for processing bio-waste and agricultural waste in urban local bodies. The department also directed the collectors to take necessary steps to lease the land to these entities for a maximum period of 25 years.
