BW Energy has confirmed it is participating in a process to potentially acquire Azule Energy’s non-operated interests in Block 14/14K offshore Angola. The evaluation is part of the group’s strategy to pursue opportunities that align with its growth and portfolio diversification objectives.
Block 14/14K, located in Angola’s deepwater acreage, has been a significant contributor to the country’s oil production, with multiple producing fields and ongoing development projects. Azule Energy — a 50/50 joint venture between Eni and bp — is Angola’s largest independent equity producer, holding stakes across numerous offshore assets and operating several key developments.
BW Energy emphasized that no binding agreement has been reached and cautioned that there is no assurance the current process will result in a transaction.
