Japanese semiconductor manufacturer Rohm has unveiled a new compact HSDIP20 package using 4th generation SiC MOSFETs. The SiC modules were specifically developed for automotive applications. The innovation promises enhanced performance, reliability, and easier system integration. Rohm has announced the introduction of a new HSDIP20 for PFC and LLC converters in onboard chargers for electric vehicles. The HSDIP20 is a 4- in-1 or 6-in-1 module and measures just 38 x 31.3x 3.5 mm. Siemens Mobility has begun producing hydrogen-powered trains set to be used on the Südostabyernbahn network in Germany. From 2026, three 2-car Mireo Plus H trains will serve eight stations on the Mühldorf (Upper Bavaria) – Tüßling – Burghausen non-electrified route spanning 32.2km. The train features a roof-mounted fuel cell and lithium-ion batteries to ensure zero-emission operations. Reportedly, it will boast 1.7MW in drive power that enables it to reach a top speed of 140km/h. Matador Resources Company has posted $240.1 million in net profit for Q1 2025, up 24 percent from the $193.7 million logged for the corresponding quarter a year prior. Its oil and natural gas production averaged 198,631 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) in the first quarter of 2025, a 33 percent jump year-over-year. The better-than-expected oil and natural gas production was primarily due to the outperformance of wells that were turned into sales in the fourth quarter of 2024, the company said. ORLEN SA said it has signed an agreement to supply Ukraine’s Naftogaz with 3.5 million cubic feet (100,000 cubic meters) of natural gas. ORLEN said it plans to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the USA, regasify it at the Świnoujście terminal, and then transport it through the Polish transmission system to the Ukrainian border.
