Comau has announced a cooperation with Intecells to optimise the use of cold plasma in industrial battery cell manufacturing processes. The two companies plan to eliminate the need for solvents and binders in battery cell production. A major reason for the cooperation is that Intecells has patented a new application for cold plasma to develop a cost-effective technological route for customers looking to integrate this new technology into existing cell production lines. The plasma-based solution shortens cycle times and reduces energy consumption during soaking and drying in existing cell production lines. It also improves cell capacity, cycle stability and production…

EFRAG Aims to Cut Datapoints in European Sustainability Reporting Standards by at Least 50%
The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) released a draft status report on its work to revise the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) as part of the EU’s efforts to reduce sustainability reporting and compliance burdens on companies, with the organization revealing that it expects to reduce the number of datapoints required for CSRD reporting by more than half in its upcoming ESRS revision. While anticipating a datapoint reduction “aiming at 50+ per cent,” EFRAG said that it believes that the revision will still preserve “the integrity of the core objectives of the CSRD.” The update follows the release in late…
Adding a levy to airline tickets could raise more than €100bn a year to pay for the damage done by climate breakdown, research has found.Flying is the most carbon-intensive means of travel, but is artificially cheap as airline fuel is often not taxed, and the environmental impacts are not paid for.Aviation makes up more than 2% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Even in developed countries, only about half of people fly each year and about 1% of the world’s population is responsible for more than half of the aviation emissions.Several countries are considering putting a charge on tickets that would…
