Over the last few years, TCL has established itself as one of the top TV brands for affordable yet reliable displays. The best TCL TVs are much cheaper than direct rivals from LG, Samsung, and Sony, but they still deliver impressive performance. This is especially true of the company’s QD-Mini LED models, which are often sold at fantastic discounts. My team of reviewers and I test the latest TVs every year, and TCL’s offerings continually rank among our top recommendations for overall value. The QM8K earns my highest recommendation thanks to its exceptional brightness and fantastic local dimming control. But shoppers…
(Oil price)– The COP30 climate summit is ditching an earlier draft of a roadmap to transition away from fossil fuels, according to the latest draft of negotiating texts at the global gathering in Belem, Brazil. Many countries at COP30 have mobilized and supported a so-called “roadmap” to transition away from fossil fuels. But the latest draft document of the summit has removed reference to transitioning away from fossil fuels entirely, Reuters reports. While more than 80 countries joined the call for a roadmap to move away from fossil fuels, others have resisted any deal on phasing out of oil, gas, and…
Oil fell as traders assessed the prospect of a Ukraine-Russia peace deal that would add supply to a saturated market, with reports emerging that the US threatened to stop supporting Kyiv unless it agrees to a pact that favors Moscow. The newly-active January West Texas Intermediate contract fell about 1.6% to settle near $58 a barrel, its fourth day down out of five. Prices pared some losses after President Donald Trump said he would not remove sanctions on Russia as talks continue. Curbs on the country’s two largest oil producers went into effect on Friday. Despite those sanctions taking hold…
When I logged into Zoom on Tuesday, I was expecting more clarity. Instead, a few minutes later, the Ninth Circuit Court issued an injunction in two short sentences, temporarily blocking one-half of California’s Climate Rule – SB 261. SB 261, which was set to require covered entities to publish climate risk reports by January 1st, 2026, could now see its timeline pushed slightly back. The other half of the rules, SB 253, was unaffected, and companies will still be required to report emissions by a new extended August 10th, 2026 deadline. Along with this bombshell, CARB’s workshop dropped a few…
John Ainger, Fabiano Maisonnave and Jennifer A. Dlouhy November 21, 2025 (Bloomberg) – Brazilian officials running high-level United Nations climate talks are readying a preliminary agreement that ignores demands from about 80 nations to further develop plans to transition away from fossil fuels. Brazil, which oversees the COP30 summit taking place in the Amazonian city of Belém, was on track to present delegates with the next draft of an agreement Thursday, though delays were expected following an afternoon fire that forced the evacuation of the conference venue. The coming draft of the so-called mutirão decision…
India’s Reliance Industries Ltd. said it would stop processing Russian oil at part of its giant Jamnagar oil refinery as US sanctions force the company to shy away from dealings with Moscow. The export-focused part of the refinery, which accounts for about half of its 1.4 million barrels a day of capacity, took its last shipment of Russian crude on Thursday, the company said in statement. The move would mean the site could keep supplying fuel to Europe when new sanctions banning the import of petroleum made from Russian crude come into effect early next year. It will also demonstrate…
(Oil Price)– The United Arab Emirates is ready to invest as much as $50 billion in Canada’s industries, notably energy and artificial intelligence, following a visit by Prime Minister Mark Carney in Abu Dhabi. Reuters reported the news, citing a statement by the Emirati authorities that did not feature any details on the investment agreement. Earlier reports, however, mentioned an investment pact signed by Carney and his hosts in Abu Dhabi. The pact was “a prelude to a trade agreement in any scenario that Canada has been in,” the former premier of Quebec, Jean Charest, who accompanies Carney on his UAE…

The cycle of colossal capex spending, driven by OpenAI, is one of the year’s biggest market trends, and it’s one that Bank of America thinks could ultimately lead to trouble for mega-cap tech giantsThe investment bank recently highlighted a paradox: while AI hyperscalers are rushing to ink deals with OpenAI, they are also locked in competition with the ChatGPT maker.Commentators have puzzled over how long and how far the OpenAI spending spree can run, particularly as the company is committing more money than it is projected to generate. However, BofA’s Justin Post says it may end up causing more problems…
Climate crisis talks look likely to stretch well into the weekend in Brazil, with countries still far apart on the crucial issues of phasing out fossil fuels and cutting carbon. The Cop30 president, André Corrêa do Lago, urged ministers and high-ranking officials from more than 190 countries to find common ground: “We need to preserve this regime [of the Paris climate agreement] with the spirit of cooperation, not in the spirit of who is going to win or is willing to lose’” he said. “Because we know if we don’t strengthen this, everyone will lose.”No agreement looked likely, however, on the…
