A modular battery microgrid powers Redwood Materials’ Nevada campus.Redwood Materials General Motors, which has poured billions of dollars into producing electric vehicle batteries at U.S. plants, is partnering with Redwood Materials to use some of its cells for stationary energy storage systems for the power grid as well as AI data centers. The Detroit-based automaker, which already supplies battery scrap materials to Redwood for recycling, plans to supply both new and used U.S.-made battery cells that Redwood will package as large stationary packs, the companies said. The move comes after Reno-based Redwood, founded by Tesla cofounder and current board member…
India’s romance with cheap Russian oil is cooling—just a touch.Russian crude imports into India crept up 1% in the first half of 2025, totaling about 1.75 million barrels per day. That’s hardly a surge, considering the price allure that first pulled India deeper into Moscow’s oil orbit after the 2022 Ukraine invasion. And while Russia still holds the top supplier spot—accounting for 35% of India’s crude inflows—the real story isn’t the volumes. It’s the shrinking advantage. The discount on Urals crude has narrowed to just $1.70–$2 per barrel below Brent, the slimmest since the war began. A year ago, Indian refiners…
(World Oil) – (Bloomberg) – The U.S. may depart the International Energy Agency without changes to forecasting that Republicans have criticized as unrealistically green, President Donald Trump’s energy chief said. “We will do one of two things: we will reform the way the IEA operates or we will withdraw,” Energy Secretary Chris Wright said during an interview Tuesday. “My strong preference is to reform it.” The Paris-based IEA, established in response to the 1970s oil crisis to enhance energy security, stirred controversy in recent years as long-term forecasts began to factor in more active government policies to shift away from…

State-controlled natural gas firm GAIL (India) Ltd has started discussions about buying liquefied natural gas from the proposed $44-billion Alaska LNG project, industry sources familiar with the talks told Reuters on Wednesday. The potential deal to purchase LNG from the project is part of India’s push to buy and pledge to buy increased volumes of U.S. energy products and thus reduce its trade surplus with America and avoid steep tariffs. The cost of supply from Alaska LNG will be the crucial factor in GAIL’s decision whether to commit to a long-term offtake deal, according to Reuters’ sources.Energy companies are ready to commit…
Energy Department Announces Pilot Program to Build Advanced U.S. Nuclear Fuel Lines and End Foreign Dependence
WASHINGTON— The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced the start of a new pilot program to accelerate the development of advanced nuclear reactors and strengthen domestic supply chains for nuclear fuel. The Department issued a Request for Application (RFA) and is seeking qualified U.S. companies to build and operate nuclear fuel production lines using the DOE authorization process. This initiative will help end America’s reliance on foreign sources of enriched uranium and critical materials, while opening the door for private sector investment in America’s nuclear renaissance.Today’s action directly supports President Trump’s executive orders to reform nuclear reactor testing at…

Elon Musk has said that the vehicles will be in “many other cities” in the country by the end of 2025 and…
