Woodside Energy Group Ltd. has reached an agreement with financial backers for an underwritten debt instrument sale with a principal amount of $3.5 billion in the United States market. The senior unsecured notes consist of $500 million maturing 2028 with a 4.9 percent interest, $1.25 billion due 2030 with a 5.4 percent coupon, $500 million due 2032 with a 5.7 percent interest and $1.25 billion due 2035 with a six percent interest. Global private capital investment firm Carlyle announced the launch of Revera Energy, a new platform that will invest in and develop sustainable and clean energy infrastructure solutions in Australia and the UK. Revera will develop, build, own, and operate energy infrastructure projects involving battery storage, renewable power, and green hydrogen. The projects will include those in Carlyle’s current portfolio, comprised of projects carved out and acquired from Amp Energy in Australia and the UK. New Fortress Energy Inc. (NFE) has closed the sale of its assets and operations in Jamaica to Excelerate Energy, Inc. for $1.055 billion. Excelerate has acquired full ownership of NFE’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal in Montego Bay, an offshore floating storage and regasification terminal in Old Harbour, and a 150-megawatt (MW) combined heat and power plant in Clarendon, along with the associated infrastructure. According to the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association’s (TIPRO) analysis, direct Texas upstream employment for April totaled 206,000. That’s what TIPRO said in a statement sent to Rigzone on Friday, which cited the latest Current Employment Statistics (CES) report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Eni SpA has signed a deal with Ares Alternative Credit Management to negotiate a potential divestment of 20 percent of its renewable energy (RE) arm to the investment fund. The European Commission announced that it has selected 15 projects across the European Economic Area (EEA) to receive €992 million (USD$1.1 billion) in funding to produce renewable hydrogen, a key element of efforts to decarbonize heavy industry and transport. Half of China’s truck sales are set to be electric vehicles by 2028, according to the top executive of Chinese battery giant CATL, which holds more than a third of the global EV battery market. Trucks with CATL batteries could cut cost per ton-kilometer by 35% versus trucks running with internal combustion engine, CATL’s chairman and chief executive officer, Robin Zeng, told the Financial Times in an interview.
