Vista Energy has acquired Petronas’ 50% stake in the Vaca Muerta shale basin in a deal valued at $1.5 billion USD. Vista estimates that the area, known as La Amarga Chica (LACh) could potentially hold 400 new well locations to be drilled in its inventory (at 100% working interest). The remaining 50% of LACh is held by operator YPF S.A. The purchase price is comprised of US$ 900 million in cash, US$ 300 million in deferred cash payments and 7,297,507 American Depositary Shares. APA Corporation and its partners Lagniappe Alaska, LLC, an Armstrong company, and Oil Search (Alaska), LLC, a subsidiary of Santos Limited, have completed successful flow testing of the Sockeye-2 exploratory well in Alaska’s North Slope. Apache holds a 50% working interest, operator Lagniappe and partner Santos each hold 25% working interests in the 325,411-acre exploratory block. (WO) — MODEC has been awarded a contract by ExxonMobil Guyana Limited to develop a Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) vessel for the Hammerhead project offshore Guyana. The contract, issued as a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP), allows MODEC to begin early-phase work on the FPSO while awaiting regulatory and government approvals. Phase one of the project will involve front-end engineering and design (FEED), followed by engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) in phase two—pending final project sanction by ExxonMobil Guyana and its Stabroek Block co-venturers.
