Strategic Capital Mobilization: AIIB and Keppel aim to deploy up to $1.5 billion in sustainable infrastructure projects by 2030.
Focus Areas: Investment will target renewable energy, digital infrastructure, transport, and urban services across Asia-Pacific.
Public-Private Synergy: The partnership combines AIIB’s long-term capital with Keppel’s operational expertise to address the region’s infrastructure gap.
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has entered into a strategic partnership with Keppel Ltd. to mobilize up to USD1.5 billion for sustainable infrastructure projects across Asia-Pacific. The agreement, signed during AIIB’s 10th Annual Meeting in Beijing, will run through December 2030.
The collaboration will support infrastructure projects developed and invested in through Keppel’s private funds, with a focus on green infrastructure, regional connectivity, and technology-driven solutions.
“Keppel is a valued partner with a strong track record in infrastructure,” said Rajat Misra, Acting Chief Investment Officer (Region 1) & Financial Institutions and Funds (Global) Clients, AIIB. “This agreement reflects AIIB’s continued commitment to partnering with leading institutions to finance infrastructure that is green, technology-enabled and regionally connected.”

Sectors targeted include renewable energy, power transmission, digital infrastructure, transport, and urban services. The partnership leverages Keppel’s expertise in managing large-scale assets and AIIB’s financial strength to deliver both debt and equity financing.

“Despite increasing investments in green infrastructure and connectivity, a significant infrastructure gap persists across Asia Pacific,” noted Christina Tan, CEO of Fund Management and CIO at Keppel. “By combining AIIB’s financial strength with Keppel’s proven track record, this strategic partnership positions us to accelerate Asia Pacific’s transition towards a more sustainable future.”

The initiative aligns with AIIB’s 2021–2030 Corporate Strategy, which prioritizes green infrastructure, technology-enabled solutions, and private capital mobilization. The agreement also aims to strengthen institutional collaboration and knowledge-sharing between the two organizations.
By tapping into private sector expertise and co-investment, AIIB and Keppel aim to scale sustainable infrastructure that promotes climate resilience, inclusive growth, and long-term regional development.
