The African Energy Chamber (AEC) will lead a delegation of African energy stakeholders to Venezuela this week to explore upstream investment opportunities and strengthen cooperation between the two regions’ oil and gas sectors.
The visit, scheduled for Feb. 22–26, will include meetings with government officials, national oil company representatives and private sector leaders aimed at advancing collaboration across exploration, production and broader energy development. The initiative reflects growing interest in international partnerships to support Venezuela’s efforts to expand oil output and attract investment.
AEC officials said the trip will focus on identifying potential joint ventures and long-term commercial opportunities between African companies and Venezuelan operators. Venezuela, an honorary member of the African Petroleum Producers Organization, has maintained ties with African producers and is seeking to revitalize its upstream sector through new investment and technical cooperation.
Discussions are expected to center on upstream development, financing opportunities and knowledge sharing between the two regions, as both look to strengthen production capacity and support global energy supply.
