Expand Energy Corp. will relocate its corporate headquarters from Oklahoma City to Houston in mid-2026 and has appointed Chairman Michael Wichterich as interim president and chief executive officer, the company announced.
The move is intended to strengthen the company’s connections with key industry partners and position the largest U.S. natural gas producer closer to global energy markets. While executive leadership will transition to Houston, Oklahoma City will remain a core operational hub and center of excellence, the company said.
Wichterich succeeds Domenic (Nick) J. Dell’Osso Jr., who has stepped down as CEO and a member of the board but will remain as an external advisor during the leadership transition. The board has launched a search for a permanent chief executive.
“Building on our momentum entering 2026, our new headquarters will enable us to capitalize on Houston’s leading role as a gateway to the global natural gas market,” Wichterich said. “This move supports our strategy to connect our scale to growing domestic and international demand for reliable, lower-carbon energy.”
The company said the relocation will primarily affect senior leadership and corporate functions, while maintaining its commitment to employees and operations in Oklahoma City.
Wichterich has served as chairman since 2021 and previously held the interim CEO role in 2021. He is also founder and CEO of Three Rivers Operating Co., a private Permian-focused E&P company.
Expand Energy reaffirmed its previously issued synergy, capital and operating outlook for fourth-quarter and full-year 2025, signaling continuity in strategy as the leadership transition and headquarters relocation proceed.
