The Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) on Friday presented its annual awards at the valedictory session of India Energy Week (IEW) 2026 in Goa, recognising individuals and organisations for their contributions to innovation, sustainability and operational excellence across India’s energy sector.
The awards highlighted achievements spanning startups, oil marketing companies, city gas distributors, project execution teams and young professionals, reflecting the sector’s evolving role in supporting India’s energy transition and security objectives.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the strong focus on innovation and emerging technologies through the dedicated startup challenges. Under the AVINYA – The Energy Startup Challenge, Minimines Cleantech Solutions was declared the winner and received a trophy and certificate for its innovative approach.
Ossus Biorenewables secured the first runner-up position with a cash prize of ₹2 lakh, while Tranzmeo IT Solutions emerged as the second runner-up and was awarded ₹1 lakh. The global dimension of innovation was reflected in the VASUDHA – Overseas Startup Challenge, where Resermine, USA, represented by Anton Malkov and Amit Kumar, was recognised as a runner-up and received a cash award of ₹3 lakh for its international technology solution.
The awards also honoured leading corporations for their strategic contributions to India’s energy landscape. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) was named Oil Marketing Company of the Year, with the award received by Shri Sanjay Khanna, Chairman and Managing Director, along with Shri Subhankar Sen, Director (Marketing).
Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) was conferred the City Gas Distribution Company of the Year award, accepted by Managing Director Kamal Kishore Chatiwal and Director (Commercial) Mohit Bhatia, in recognition of the company’s leadership in expanding clean fuel access. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) was also honoured with the Company of the Year award, received by Vikas Kaushal, Chairman and Managing Director.
Emphasising the importance of nurturing future leadership, the Young Achiever of the Year (Female) award was presented to Vanashree Mhatre of Pipeline Infrastructure, who was recognised with a trophy, citation and a cash award of ₹50,000 for her outstanding professional accomplishments.
Excellence in project execution and management was another major theme of the awards. Shell India, representing the PMT joint venture, was recognised with the Best Managed Project award for demonstrating superior project management capabilities.
The Project of the Year award acknowledged leadership and performance across the upstream and energy value chain, with joint recognition given to Nipun Pradhan, Managing Director of BGEPIL, Padmanabh Gokhale, Vice President (E&P) at Reliance Industries Ltd, and Kuldeep Mukherjee, Executive Director at ONGC.
Together, the FIPI Awards at IEW 2026 highlighted the depth and diversity of talent across India’s energy sector, celebrating both established leaders and emerging innovators who are shaping a resilient, sustainable and future-ready energy ecosystem.
