Weatherford International plc has unveiled Weatherford Industrial Intelligence, a new digital portfolio announced at the FWRD 2025 Technology Conference in Houston. The platform aims to integrate data, automation, and domain expertise across upstream oil and gas operations.

“Weatherford Industrial Intelligence empowers our customers to accelerate adoption, regardless of infrastructure maturity, by integrating our software, our partners’ software, and our customers’ systems with any hardware,” commented Girish Saligram, President and CEO of Weatherford. “With domain intelligence embedded at the edge and grounded in decades of engineering expertise, we deliver automation that drives safer operations, greater efficiency, and stronger returns.”
Among the technologies highlighted were:
Weatherford Autonomous Surveillance Platform (WASP): A system for continuous remote visibility using distributed fiber optics, IoT devices, and cameras.
R2TUs Edge Device Family: Field-deployed edge devices with embedded models for closed-loop automation.
MetaFlow Virtual Flow Meter: AI- and physics-based software for real-time, accurate flow measurement.
Synsera Unified Data Model: A framework to normalize and analyze operational and financial data across multiple assets.
Canvas: A no-code data science environment enabling engineers to apply advanced analytics without programming expertise.
Doppl Digital Twin: A tool for interactive visualization and simulation of assets independent of hardware or SCADA system.
The company also introduced the WFRD Software Launchpad, described as a centralized industrial SaaS platform to access Weatherford, partner, and customer-built applications.
Building on existing platforms
Industrial Intelligence builds on Weatherford’s established ForeSite® production suite, Centro® well construction optimization platform, PetroVisorTM unified data system, and EcoVisor ESG platform. The new portfolio aims to integrate these offerings into a broader digital framework to support automation, performance benchmarking, and sustainability initiatives.
