On Tuesday, 27 January at Hyvolution Paris, German Hydrogen Association (DWV) and France Hydrogène (FH2) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Through this MoU, the associations – represented by their respective Presidents Silke Frank and Nicolas Brahy – strive to coordinate efforts in the following areas:
Advocate for robust policy backing for hydrogen as a pillar of decarbonisation and of European energy sovereignty, resilience and industrial competitiveness;
Synchronisation of the Franco-German market development;
De-risk of investment and acceleration of deployment;
Support for a thriving hydrogen market and skills base, grounded in a technology-open approach and focused on scalable industrial implementation;
Sharing of best practices and coordinating outreach to advance hydrogen as a key tool to cut emissions while strengthening Europe’s industrial base.
“France brings vision and long-term strategy to hydrogen. Germany brings the Mittelstand mindset: pragmatic engineering and strong supply chains. Together, strategy and execution, ambition and implementation, form a powerful Franco-German engine that Europe needs to succeed on hydrogen and to deliver at scale.❞ commented Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, CEO, Hydrogen Europe.
