EWTC President Tim Tarpley
(WO) – The Energy Workforce & Technology Council welcomed recent action by the U.S. Department of the Interior aimed at supporting oil and gas production on federal lands, saying updated federal policies could help sustain domestic output and energy-sector jobs.
In a statement, EWTC President Tim Tarpley said Interior’s move reflects a recognition of the role federal lands play in meeting growing U.S. and global energy demand. He added that oil and natural gas development on federal acreage remains critical to maintaining a reliable energy system while supporting high-skilled employment across the upstream value chain.
Tarpley also emphasized the importance of modernizing federal regulations to align with current operational realities, noting that regulatory clarity and flexibility are key to maintaining U.S. competitiveness and enabling responsible development of domestic oil and gas resources.
